Thoughts on Animal Thoughts
This will delve into an area that many will scoff at and some will say is pure fantasy.
Animal telepathy and communication.
Lets look at telepathy as we know it first. Many religions around the world believe in it. Is it communicating with words and sentences or with imagery or a combination of both? Are feelings and emotions conveyed as well? Between humans I say all of the above are possible. From a human communicating with an animal point of view it may be limited to animals of higher intelligence and may also be limited to certain types of animals, according to some.
But this is more about animal to animal communication. Many animals lack an extensive vocal language like us humans but they manage to communicate with each other quite well. Most animal behavourists will say they communicate mostly with body language, from instincts and using some vocal noises. Body language and instincts do play a part and most animals do not have a sufficient vocabulary to be of much help verbally so there has to be more to it.
Observing a parent teaching their young what to eat and how to obtain that food, where to sleep, when and how to migrate, mating rituals, how and when to use vocalizations will not reveal much to us since we do not speak their language. We humans tend to implant our own ideas of what we observe in animals. Watch a mother deer after loosing her fawn to a bear and it will look like she doesn’t really care because they have no facial expressions to show emotions. Relying on facial expressions works fine between humans but not with many animals. Another question often posed is do they have feelings? Anyone with a furry pet can answer that easily and I am sure it extends to all animals in some way.
Assuming that animals use telepathy, do they use full sentences the way we verbalize? I doubt that but what about one or two word phrases verbally or imagery from memory backed up with some body language, vocalizations and feelings and emotions? As with humans I say all of the above are possible. Does one species communicate with another or are they as ignorant as we are to them?
Another concept believed in many religions is the aura of a being whether visually or mentally. What if animals include the aura as part of their communication? Some believe a lot can learned about a person from “reading” their aura like health, mental state and emotions.
Why does one animal of a group walk right up to one person, is there a connection the animal can sense? Relaxed, easy going people and animal lovers seem to be more likely to have an animal do this.
Do they think of the singular person as I or me, do they think of we, us and them the way we do?
There are more questions than answers for this subject.
Observe animals and watch for signs of communication whether pets or wild or both. There is no doubts that they communicate, we just have to pay attention until we can figure out a way to communicate directly with them. I sure would like to know what the dolphins have been chattering about, they really try to communicate with us. Of course they would probably be telling us to quit mucking up the world.
